What to Expect at Your First Visit
No surprises, just a clear picture of what happens before you even walk through the door.
Before your appointment.
A little prep makes your first visit go faster and smoother. If you can, bring:
- A Photo ID
- Your Insurance Card (if applicable)
- A List of Current Medications
- Your Dental History, if You Have It
- Any Recent X-Rays from a Previous Dentist
If you're switching from another practice, you don't need to track down old records before booking, we can request them directly once you're scheduled.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTWhat actually happens during your first visit.
A Conversation First
Before anything clinical happens, we talk. What brought you in, what's worked or not worked at past dental offices, any anxiety or sensitivity we should know about.
A Full Exam
A complete look at your teeth, gums, and bite, along with X-rays if it's been a while since your last set, or if you don't have recent ones on file.
A Cleaning, If Time Allows
Many first visits include a routine cleaning the same day. If your case needs more time or a specialist's attention first, we'll let you know before starting anything.
A Plan, Not Just a Diagnosis
We'll walk through what we found, what (if anything) needs attention, and what a treatment plan would look like, including cost, before you leave.
How long does it take?
Most first visits run 60 to 90 minutes, longer than a routine six-month cleaning, since there's more ground to cover the first time around. If you're coming in for something urgent rather than a routine first visit, let us know when you call, we'll adjust the appointment accordingly.
